After several rejections from interviews, I felt too sucked out of self-confidence, and even felt I’m not worth the hype 😆. The process of rejection held us responsible that I’m the reason for all the failures. But we don’t see that certain times situations are troublesome, hence you can’t blame yourself for everything.
But after several tries, you need to review your working process because maybe that’s at fault🏗️. I have been investing since 2yrs now but there was a time when I used to blindly trust my broker and invest in stocks that I barely even knew about. Without any analytical research and insufficient data-driven decision, I waited for my first profitable stock for around 8months📉.
I always am a hasty learner, as my “Twitter bio” says. I always wanted to start first just so that I would stay ahead of everyone else, I still do such things. Many times I succeed but certain times I have faced scenarios wherein I failed because of insufficient knowledge which I grappled with during the preparation stage. I’ve now realized that being a slow learner is better than grasping the wrong knowledge in a hurry. Even if you have your facts right and everything seems running smoothly you need to check for errors. “Shortcomings are only visible if you look for them🧐”
There is a heart-wrenching incident that occurred in Bhopal, India in 1984. A factory🏭 named Union Carbide was situated in the middle of the civilization. On the night of the 2nd & 3rd of December, a poisonous gas named Methyl Isocyanide [MIC] was leaked from the factory which led to around deaths of 4000 people in a single night. More than 8000 people died due to gas-related diseases, several people became permanently or partially disabled. The reason for this tragedy was the lack of action after the review procedure, most of the plant's MIC-related safety systems were malfunctioning and many valves and lines were in poor condition. In addition, several vent gas scrubbers had been out of service, as well as the steam boiler intended to clean the pipes. The company didn’t take the safety measure seriously which led to the death of many civilians. [Credits: Wikipedia.] Please watch the Railwaymen on Netflix to know more context about this incident
So after reading through such a devastating incident, I would suggest you review your decisions from your procedure phase. Sometimes you will find flaws😢, sometimes you will find better solutions😯 and sometimes you will appreciate the process or the journey😇 so far you have taken. No matter what, keep progressing.
Cheers ✌️
